SPONSORSPARTNERS
The Sponsorship Newsletter is asking rights holders, agencies and brands how they are making best use of their assets and making a positive impact in these uncharted times for the sponsorship sector.
The EFL and Mind’s ground-breaking charity partnership launched ahead of the 2018/19 season with the aim to increase the visibility and awareness of mental health, improve the approach to mental health through training and raise vital money to deliver life changing support across the country.
Recently extended for a further two years, the innovative partnership provides Mind with a huge reach to speak to those that may need mental health advice.
In the current climate, the EFL and Mind have worked together to issue important mental health information and advice, issuing the mental health charity’s ‘Coronavirus and wellbeing’ advice through EFL and all Club digital channels.
To specifically target the EFL fan audience, Mind has created football specific ‘Have Your Mate’s Back’ assets that focus on how to keep up the conversations that may usually happen at football matches with friends and family and some ideas on how to keep active. These assets have also been shared with the Club network and in less than 24 hours since these were posted, the videos have received over 20k collective views across EFL’s own digital platforms with many Clubs' videos viewed in high numbers too.
Mind’s online mental health training programme that is undertaken by Club staff through the partnership has also been rolled out further to Club Community Organisations and Academy staff.
The EFL and Mind will continue to work together on a number of campaigns throughout the current climate, adapting assets and messaging to suit the football audience and beyond.
