SPONSORSPARTNERS
Life and pensions firm, Aegon UK, will continue as Lead Partner of British Tennis through until 2017. The new four year deal will see Aegon continue as title sponsor of three prestigious grass court tennis events; the Aegon Championships at the Queen’s Club, London, the Aegon International at Devonshire Park, Eastbourne, and the Aegon Classic at Edgbaston Priory Club, Birmingham.
Aegon UK will also be the team sponsor of the GB Davis & Fed Cup teams, all national age group British teams and will continue to support the future talent of British tennis through the Aegon FutureStars programme.
The partnership will also see Aegon UK support a number of professional and recreational competitions including the GB Pro-Series events, the British Tour and County and Club Team Tennis.
Aegon UK Chief Executive Adrian Grace said: “This is a landmark announcement and a great day for Aegon UK and the LTA. It reinforces our long-term commitment to British tennis and the UK market. We truly believe tennis is one of the most exciting and inspirational sports to be involved in. It appeals to young and old, across all backgrounds and brings people and communities together. Anyone can pick up a racket and play. Aegon UK has been a key part in the success of British tennis over the last five years and this new deal will ensure we continue to be part of that success for years to come.”
The new agreement will build on a hugely successful first five years of the partnership, in which Aegon UK has played a key role in supporting the LTA’s work to get more people playing, competing and following tennis across the UK.
LTA Chief Executive Roger Draper said: “Aegon has been a crucial partner in our on-going work to transform British tennis, so I am delighted that they continue to share our vision and passion for the sport. This commitment demonstrates that they also share our excitement about the future of our sport and I would like to thank Adrian and his team for their continued support. Together we can look forward to promoting tennis as a game for anyone and everyone.”
