Betfair Supports Grassroots Racing

Betfair has agreed to contribute a further £250,000 to grassroots racing in Britain in 2012 via Jockey Club Racecourses (JCR), the largest racecourse group in the UK by courses, fixtures, attendances, prize money contributions and revenue.

This commitment follows an investment of the same sum in 2011, which JCR has been passing straight through into prize money, on top of its own £15.7 million record contribution this year, to support grassroots racing across all 14 JCR tracks.

As part of the arrangement, JCR will host the ‘Betfair Jumps Series’. This will launch in mid-November and consist of a series of Class 3 and 4 qualifiers leading to two £50,000 ‘finals’ – a 2m6f Open Handicap Chase and a 2m4f Open Handicap Hurdle – on Easter Saturday (2012) at Haydock Park.
