Former RBS Sponsorship Head Joins SMG Insight As Director

International sports marketing research firm SMG Insight has appointed former RBS Head of Sponsorship, Bruce Cook, as a company Director. Based in Scotland, Cook will lead the company's Scottish operation while also assisting with product design and business development across the UK, Europe and US.

SMG Insight Chief Executive, Frank Saez, commenting on the new appointment said: "We are excited about Bruce's addition to the company and the benefits it brings.  He was instrumental in driving a new level of meaningful analysis to the RBS research portfolio and he will help us do that with our other clients."

Prior to RBS, Cook worked in professional tennis (ProServ), the Olympic movement (USOC), American Football (NFL Europe League), and professional basketball (Scottish Rocks).

After leaving RBS, Cook established a consultancy that remains a going concern to complement his SMG duties: "My consultancy work is a good fit with this role as it's all about delivering more effective marketing and sport programmes for brands, events and governing bodies."
