Fuse Sport + Entertainment Appointed By Nissan

Fuse Sport + Entertainment, part of the Omnicom Media Group, has been appointed by Nissan to work on the global car manufacturer’s new sponsorship of the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Super Cup.  The agency, which earlier this year won the Sponsorship Agency of the Year title at the UK Sponsorship Awards, has been working on the programme with Nissan for three years and was involved in developing the business case and global strategy for Nissan as well as leading the tender process and contract negotiations.

The four year agreement with UEFA, starting next season, is Nissan’s largest ever sponsorship deal and sees Nissan replace Ford as UEFA Champions League sponsor after 22 years.  Fuse Sport + Entertainment is part of an “Omnicom Nissan United” team which will now work to leverage the sponsorship globally.

Commenting on the appointment, Fuse Sport + Entertainment Managing Director EMEA, Mark Bullingham said, “We are delighted that Nissan, one of our key clients, has secured such a major and prestigious sponsorship agreement with UEFA. Securing this deal is part of a long term global strategy, which fits alongside other partnerships such as Rio 2016 and the African Cup of Nations. We are excited to be involved in bringing a new name and fresh approach to the UEFA Champions League.”
