Red Cross and Essentially Stage Earthquake Appeal Match

March 27th will see the Investec Super 15 match between the Crusaders and Sharks take place at Twickenham Stadium. The event managed by Essentially forms the centrepiece of fundraising by the Red Cross which aims to raise over £1 million for the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal.

Christchurch is the home of the Crusaders and the earthquake left its AMI stadium damaged. The Super 15 is the southern hemisphere’s premier club competition and features the five top teams from each of Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. This will be the first Super 15 match to be staged outside its home nations.

Group Chief Executive of Essentially, Bart Campbell said: “We did not think twice about offering our services to bring this very worthy event to Twickenham. It’s been a tight turnaround to make this happen and we look forward to receiving the support of spectators in getting all the tickets sold over the next two weeks.”
