Swans secured as official supplier of Manchester 2023 Para Swimming World Championships

Japanese swimming goggle brand Swans owned by Yamamoto Kogaku Co., Ltd has signed as an official supplier of the Manchester 2023 Para Swimming World Championships, which will be held at the newly refurbished Manchester Aquatics Centre from 31 July to 6 August 2023. 

The long-standing relationship with World Para Swimming which began in 2017 has seen Swans supply equipment to athletes competing at international events, specifically the Swans blackened goggles for vision impaired athletes in classes S/SB/SM11. To ensure fair competition, swimmers in those classes are required to wear goggles which are completely blackened out, such that no light passes through the lens.

Craig Nicholson, Head of World Para Swimming said: “Swans has a clear long-term commitment to Para Swimming and the technical expertise they bring has really contributed to the progression of our visually impaired athletes. Their experience producing swimming goggles to create sport specific equipment and support the development of our sport continues to have an impact."
